Port of San Diego

The Port of San Diego has two cruise terminals. The B Street Pier Cruise Terminal is Disney Cruise Line’s San Diego hub. It’s located near downtown and within hopping distance of major hotels, restaurants and the airport.

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is just about 3 miles from the terminal, which means you can practically leap into your cruise in under 10 minutes! Here’s what else to know:

  • Taxis, Ubers and Lyfts are easy to find and typically cost under $20 from the airport.
  • The cruise terminal does not offer on-site parking. However, there is off-site options with shuttle service available at nearby garages. Rates generally range from $15 to $25 per night. Wyndham San Diego Bayside Garage is located right across the street and is a convenient option.
  • Hotels with cruise shuttles are available, though many people choose to walk or take a rideshare.
  • The terminal is right on the bay and often has food trucks or vendors nearby for a pre-sail snack.

Our Frog Family recommends flying in the day before and spending a night in downtown San Diego for a relaxing start to your cruise vacation. Flight delays and cancellations hoppen, and we wouldn't want the ship to leave without you!

What Disney Ships Sail From San Diego?

The Disney Wonder and Disney Magic sail out of San Diego, California, during fall and winter 2026, and spring 2027.

The Disney Magic is the first ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet with unique offerings like Rapunzel’s Royal Table, the "Tangled"-themed Rotational Dining experience that features singing, dancing and floating lanterns. Guests onboard can also enjoy "Tangled: The Musical," the thrilling AquaDunk waterslide and adult-only spaces like Fathoms and O’Gills Pub.

The Disney Wonder is known for its Art Deco design. Guests sailing on the Disney Wonder will enjoy Tiana’s Place (complete with live jazz and beignets!), "Frozen, A Musical Spectacular" and the always-popular Animator’s Palate restaurant. Adults will love the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool, Senses Spa and Crown & Fin Pub, while the tadpoles can splash around in the AquaLab and meet their favorite characters onboard.

Disney Cruise Itineraries From San Diego

Disney Cruise Line San Diego sailings range from 3- to 7-nights. The majority of these cruises travel along the Pacific coastline, visiting ports in Baja California and the Mexican Riviera.

Baja Cruises

Shorter sailings, typically 3- to 4-night Baja cruises, are perfect for those looking for a relaxing escape without committing to a full week at sea. Common ports of call include Ensenada and occasionally, these shorter itineraries also include a stop at Catalina Island, which is off the coast of Southern California. Ensenada is known for its laid-back island feel and the quaint town of Avalon, offering options for Port Adventures such as the natural sea geyser La Bufadora, Tequila and Mezcal excursions and culinary workshops at The Cheese Cave that showcase local flavors. Many of these itineraries also include a full day at sea to soak in the onboard amenities.

Mexican Riviera Cruises

For those with a bit more time to sail, 7-night Mexican Riviera itineraries provide a deeper dive into this coastal region. These sailings usually visit Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, with multiple days at sea to fully explore the ship’s entertainment, Rotational Dining and relaxation options.

Puerto Vallarta is a highlight with opportunities to swim at Playa de los Muertos, take a tasting tour of a tequila distillery in Mezcales or roam the celebrated Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. In Cabo San Lucas, guests may enjoy Port Adventures such as whale watching (our favorite), snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, relaxing aboard a luxury catamaran or spending time on the beach after a dolphin encounter.

Pacific Coast Cruises

Some repositioning (one-way) cruises that begin or end in San Diego travel to ports such as Vancouver, Canada, in preparation for the summer Alaskan sailings. This itinerary is only offered twice in 2027 — once on the Wonder and once on the Magic — and is a unique 4-night sailing if you want to road trip up or down the coast or extend your vacation in a new region entirely.

From San Diego, you'll also find a unique 14-night Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise ending in Galveston, TX, in November 2026 aboard the Disney Magic, with stops in Mexico along the way.

Just remember that these repositioning cruises are one-way, and like we mentioned above, you will need to road trip or fly back to your home port if you need to end up where you started!

Disney Cruise Out of San Diego — Visit the Disneyland Resort

Don't froget to consider pairing a trip to Disneyland Resort with a Disney Cruise Line sailing out of San Diego. The two destinations are only about 95 miles apart! With just a little more planning, it's easy to turn your Southern California getaway into the ultimate Disney land-and-sea adventure.

The most convenient transportation option between Anaheim and the Port of San Diego is a private shuttle or rideshare. The travel time is typically less than two hours, depending on traffic. Some guests also choose to rent a car for the drive, which gives flexibility for sightseeing stops along the way. There’s also the option to take an Amtrak train from Anaheim to San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot. The station is located just a short walk or taxi ride from the cruise terminal.

Planning a Disneyland-to-Disney cruise combo is completely doable. Just be sure to leave a buffer day between your park visit and cruise departure so your vacation goes swimmingly. Of course, your favorite frogs at Undercover Tourist offer exclusive savings on Disney cruises, Disneyland tickets, resort hotels and more!

Final Thoughts
